Bella Shmurda was born on 27 January 1996 in Lagos to Nigerian parents. His real name is Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed and he is 23 years old as of 2020. He grew up in Lagos State, a coastal state in Nigeria where he had most of his education. In 2016, He proceeded to Lagos State University (LASU) where he is reading History and International Studies, he is currently in his final year of 2020. He is close friends with Poco Lee, a dancer best known for his Zanku moves.

Shmurda rose to prominence after his debut single “Vision 2020“, and a follow-up (remix) to the single in which he featured Olamide.
