Even though she was born in England, she has lived in South Africa since the age of 3. Apparently, she moved to Johannesburg after completing a drama and journalism degree at Rhodes University in 1988 in Grahamstown and lived there for 13 years.
After graduating, she began working at SABC as a radio and television news journalist and anchor from March 1989 to February 2003. Since then, she has worked at various organizations including, media24 and ETV.
